Therapy

People consider therapy for many reasons. Perhaps something has changed for you. Or, perhaps it has not, despite sustained effort. A relationship stalls. A transition exposes fault lines. Familiar patterns reappear in new forms.

Our work focuses on understanding what is actually happening for you, rather than rushing toward solutions that do not last. Sessions are in person at our Midtown office or via secure teleconference.

Initial consultations are 15–minutes and carry no obligation.

Experience

Clair Headshot Brown Sweater Bookshelf background (Therapy).jpg

As a psychologist with over twenty years’ experience, my work is focused on helping people create changes that endure. This often begins with understanding how life experiences, relationships, and trauma shape how you experience yourself and others, and how you are experienced in return.

In our work together, I draw from evidence-based approaches, including psychodynamic, relational, and attachment perspectives. When useful, I also incorporate CBT and DBT.

Fees & Payments

Therapy fees are discussed during the initial consultation.

Payment is due at the time of each session. We accept ACH, Zelle, and credit cards.

Dr. Siegman does not participate in insurance networks. A superbill is available upon request for clients seeking out-of-network reimbursement.

Clair Siegman, Ph.D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Siegman is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been in practice since 2006, working in both the United States and South Africa. She has practiced in a range of settings: inpatient and outpatient care, hospitals, schools, community mental health programs, and private practice. In addition to her clinical work, she supervises doctoral students in the psychology program at The City College of New York. She understands the many paths that meaningful change can take.

Dr. Siegman works with people and families who want to resolve the things that are getting in their way, such as recurring patterns in relationships, anxiety or criticism/self-criticism, or feeling stuck during important life transitions. By focusing on shifting these patterns, she creates change that is thoughtful and lasting, opening new possibilities, greater self-compassion, and more satisfying connections with others.

She creates a warm, thoughtful, and collaborative space to slow down and think together about what brought you to therapy. Through this process, many people develop a deeper understanding of themselves, greater freedom from repeating patterns, and more fulfilling relationships with others.

Initial consultations are 15-minutes and carry no obligation.
